What the eligibility checker looks at
The checker compares your answers with the main UK home energy grant routes, including ECO4, the Warm Homes Local Grant, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, Nest Wales, Home Energy Scotland, Warmer Homes Scotland, and Northern Ireland Affordable Warmth. It looks at location, income, benefits, property type, EPC rating, current heating, and whether you own or rent your home.
Income and benefits
Some schemes require qualifying benefits such as Universal Credit or Pension Credit. Others use council ECO4 Flex rules or income thresholds, so households not receiving benefits may still qualify.
Property and EPC rating
Most grants prioritise homes with poor energy performance. EPC ratings D, E, F, and G are commonly eligible, especially where insulation, heating upgrades, or solar panels would reduce bills.
Owner, tenant, or landlord
Homeowners can usually apply directly. Private tenants can qualify too, but installation work normally needs landlord consent. Landlords may also have EPC-related grant routes.
