Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. Who we are
WarmHomeUK ("we", "us", "our") operates the website warmhomeuk.co.uk. We help UK residents find and access government energy efficiency grants. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
2. What data we collect
When you use our eligibility checker and lead capture form, we collect:
- Contact information: Name, email address, phone number
- Property information: Postcode, address, property type, EPC rating
- Eligibility data: Ownership status, income band, benefits received, heating type, improvement interests
- Technical data: Privacy-friendly analytics events, page paths, referrer paths, campaign parameters, and aggregated browser/device information
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Assess your eligibility for government energy efficiency grants
- Connect you with approved local installers for a free property assessment (only with your explicit consent)
- Send you updates about new grants and energy saving tips (only if you opt in)
- Improve our eligibility checker, solar calculator, pages, and forms using aggregate analytics
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your data based on:
- Consent: You actively provide consent through separate checkboxes for being contacted, receiving marketing, and data sharing with installers
- Legitimate interest: To improve our service, diagnose problems, and understand aggregate visitor journeys
5. Who we share your data with
We only share your data with:
- Approved local installers: Only with your explicit consent, to arrange your free property assessment
- Service providers: Supabase (data storage), Resend (email notifications), Cloudflare (hosting)
We never sell your data to third parties.
6. Data retention
We retain your personal data for up to 12 months from the date of submission. After this period, your data is automatically deleted unless you have an ongoing relationship with one of our installer partners.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Data portability
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
8. Cookies, storage and analytics
We use Umami Analytics to understand aggregate website usage and funnel performance. The tracker is configured without cookies, respects browser Do Not Track signals, and is not used for advertising, remarketing, cross-site tracking, or individual profiling.
We track events such as page views, eligibility checker steps, solar calculator steps, CTA clicks, form starts, form submissions, and report downloads. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, postcodes, report tokens, or free-text form content to analytics. URL query strings are stripped before analytics data is sent, except standard UTM campaign parameters.
For lead attribution, we store the first landing page, referrer path, and UTM source, medium, and campaign in sessionStorage for the current browser session. If you submit a lead form, those attribution fields are sent with your enquiry so we can understand which pages and campaigns produce enquiries. The browser storage expires when your session ends and is not used to identify you before you submit the form.
Because this setup is limited to statistical analytics and service improvement, we rely on the statistical analytics exception under UK PECR and provide a simple way to object.
